Did you know that ever since 1975, World United Nations Day has been celebrated every 24th of October? Well, now you know! But, why do we even celebrate this organization every year?
During the war, the major allied powers agreed to build a new global organization to help resolve and establish international affairs worldwide due to the conflict from the League of Nations. This agreement was articulated by the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, along with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and signed by the Atlantic Charter in August 1941. On June 26, 1945, the Charter was signed, and the United Nations Conference of International Organization (UNCIO) came into force on October 24, 1945, and was soon recognized and established publicly. As the years passed, the United Nations (UN) today has founding members, with numerous countries joining the organization, seemingly eager to help maintain peace, unity, and equality.
The United Nations (UN) protected, guided, and helped improve the world's society, restore peace and prevent outbreaks of war all over the world for the past 79 years. They have made crucial projects such as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were established to make a country sustainable and efficient for growth. Aside from that, the UN implemented a successful project called Plantatón Uruguay where 152 people from 24 countries helped Uruguay plant more than a thousand native trees in the Punta Del Diablo Public Park, which was affected by a forest fire.

The UN seeks to prevent future generations from executing war, as well as taking care of nature, having equal access to school, gender, and many more. Furthermore, the organization aspires for every nation to have friendly relationships with one another and to achieve worldwide teamwork and cooperation to address international problems like climate change and pollution. Honoring World United Nations Day amplifies the significance of the new era in our history along with the people's capability to work together in unity and peace, along with love and justice, to fight for their own rights. The United Nations symbolizes hope, the voice of the people that speaks for everyone, especially the people in need.
